Crypto assets and other digital assets are at the precipice of exponential growth in terms of economic value and widespread consumer adoption as a mainstream asset class.

Commensurate with this growing adoption, is, unfortunately, a growing concern over fraud and abuse by threat actors. There is also a concern that taxpayers can evade paying tax on gains made in the trading and holding of these assets. To adequately pursue tax evasion and other matters, law enforcement needs to be able to understand Crypto and Digital Assets holistically, understand the tools and analytical approaches applicable to blockchain enabled virtual assets, and develop and adopt the best approaches to investigations into allegations and suspicions that arise.
